The Story of the Wild Soprano
Canadian singer/songwriter, Angela Molineux, began classical vocal training as a young girl while pursuing studies and a career as a young author. After winning a CBC short story contest, she was published in newspapers and a provincial young author’s anthology. She went on to study opera at The UBC School of Music and The Juilliard School after completing a degree in Psychology with Honors, with a minor in performing arts.
She spent several years working as an TV/Film/Commercials and Voice-Over actress, on- camera host, corporate/commercial broadcast media producer and scriptwriter for international companies in Canada and the UK before returning to focusing on music full-time. Her passion for connecting with the world through song has led her to performances at high profile events around the globe. Angela has had the privilege of performances at dignitary events for the Calgary, Vancouver and London Olympics, international sporting events at BMO Field and Swanguard Stadium, The Amalfi Music Coast Festival, a guest appearance on the series Made in Chelsea, a performance with Passionata for King Abdullah II of Jordan, and solo performances for Kokon to Zai, Dior and The Beverly Hills Proms.
Some of her recordings include chorus soprano for Die Meistersinger with Ben Heppner (CBC Radio Canada), Ilan Eshkeri's Requiem for Burberry and her co-written epic song “Vacuus Vos” for Virgin Galactic. Her debut EP “With love and light”, produced and co-written by Max Herman through Universal Music, is available to stream and download on all digital platforms.
After experiencing a life-threatening car accident that resulted in serious injuries, Angela began to draw upon her degree in psychology and techniques for healing herself and others through music and mindfulness. Searching for inspiration, she produced, scripted and hosted a series of podcasts entitled The Art of Inspiration with Angela Molineux. She recently wrote a feature article in “Happiful” magazine, wrote the foreword for and was the developmental editor for a book on car accident recovery by clinical psychologist Dr. James Zender, published by Rowman & Littlefield. Currently, Angela is working on a musical podcast audiobook project, composing new music that focuses on relaxation, healing and inspiration and performing in the classical crossover, opera and pop genres.
